Orchid Seed For Sale
I am offering temperate orchid seed for people who are interested in propagating their own plauts and have the lab facilities to do so using asymbiotic seed germination protocols. Protocols for doing so are listed in another section of this web page. Each batch of seed will contain at least 20,000 seeds. If you are thinking about spreading the seed in a seed bed to effect germination I don't recommend this. Orchid seed in nature needs a symbiotic fungus to facilitate germination. The probability of getting a mature orchid by spreading the seed like this is close to zero. You often see offers on the web for seed packets containing 50-200 seeds. These are rip-offs in my opinion. I have never heard of anyone who has successfully produced seedlings from these small packets of seed.
